Marianne was born and raised on the family farm near Meath Park, Saskatchewan. She attended the College of Commerce at the University of Saskatchewan, obtained a diploma in Local Government Administration with the University of Regina, and then returned to Saskatoon, obtaining her LL.B from the University of Saskatchewan in 1981.

After graduating from law school, Marianne worked as the Town Administrator for Rosthern and then commenced her own law practice. Marianne practices in our Rosthern office full-time, and also travels to her part-time office in Wakaw. Her preferred areas of practice are real estate, mortgages, wills, powers of attorney, estates, and municipal law.

Over the years, Marianne has served as secretary of the local school board, alderman of the Town of Rosthern, chair of the local hospital board, vice-chair of the Gabriel Springs District Health Board, and Treasurer and Secretary of the Rosthern Lions Club. She was a recipient, together with her husband, of a Centennial Volunteer Appreciation Award from the North Central Regional Recreation Association in 2005. Marianne is married to Bernie and has two grown daughters.
